75 years ago today, the Duke of Sutherland officially opens Great Britain’s northernmost airport at Inverness, Scotland. For many weeks, however, the facility has been used by Highland Airways for a regular daily service between Inverness, Kirwell (capital of the Orkney Islands), and other points.
